Job Description

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – Distributor SalesLocation: Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar & JharkhandDepartment: Sales

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the sales operations across the assigned region through the distributor network.
  • Drive achievement of regional sales targets (primary & secondary) and ensure growth across categories.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sales Officers, Area Sales Executives (ASEs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs), and Distributor Sales Executives.
  • Strengthen and expand the distributor network – appointment, onboarding, ROI monitoring, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies, trade promotions, and channel development plans.
  • Review sales performance, market share, and distribution gaps; implement corrective action plans.
  • Ensure effective execution of marketing initiatives, new product launches, and visibility campaigns in the region.
  • Manage distributor claims, credit limits, and collections, and ensure financial discipline in the market.
  • Analyze competitor activities, pricing, and market trends to design counter strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with key distributors, retailers, and GT and MT partners.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (supply chain, accounts, marketing, HR) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure timely reporting of regional performance, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to the HOD.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of FMCG distributor/channel sales (primary & secondary).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management.
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Proficiency in sales reporting, MIS, and data analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate
  • 8–12 years of sales experience in FMCG / Food & Beverages / Consumer Goods.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a regional sales manager or equivalent leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large distributor networks and achieving regional sales goals.
