Job Description: Fashion Designer (Textile Designer)

Role Overview

The Fashion Designer (Textile Designer) will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and customizing curtain and upholstery solutions that align with client preferences, functionality, and interior themes. The role demands a strong sense of fabric aesthetics, pattern coordination, and technical understanding of stitching and finishing styles to deliver high-quality, bespoke furnishing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Concept Development

• Understand customer requirements, site layout, and decor style to create curtain design concepts.
• Prepare mood boards, sketches, and fabric combinations based on client preferences and budgets.
• Suggest pleating styles, linings, trims, and accessories that complement the overall look.

2. Fabric & Color Coordination

• Curate fabric pairings for living, bedroom, and commercial spaces.
• Advise on color psychology, texture, and fall of fabrics (e.g., sheers, velvet, blackout, linen).
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for new fabric samples and design collections.

3. Technical Design Support

• Prepare detailed cutting and stitching sheets for tailors and production teams.
• Work with the tailoring unit to ensure design intent is accurately translated into final output.
• Suggest improvements in finishing, detailing, and fitting techniques.

4. Customer Interaction & Consultation

• Attend client consultations in the showroom or at-site when required.
• Present fabric and design options with visual aids or digital simulations.
• Maintain a strong understanding of current trends in curtains, blinds, and interior textiles.

5. Product & Display Management

• Curate and update in-store display curtains and fabric panels for seasonal changes.
• Ensure that showroom fabric displays are labeled, well-coordinated, and visually appealing.
• Assist in photoshoots, cataloging, and visual merchandising activities.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong sense of aesthetics, color, and material coordination.
• Technical understanding of curtain draping, pleats, headings, and lining techniques.
• Proficiency in design tools (CorelDRAW, Photoshop, or Canva) is a plus.
• Knowledge of different fabric types, weave structures, and their functional properties.
• Good communication and presentation skills for client-facing discussions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresher

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
