The role demands a strong sense of fabric aesthetics, pattern coordination, and technical understanding of stitching and finishing styles to deliver high-quality, bespoke furnishing solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Design & Concept Development Understand customer requirements, site layout, and decor style to create curtain design concepts. Prepare mood boards, sketches, and fabric combinations based on client preferences and budgets. Suggest pleating styles, linings, trims, and accessories that complement the overall look. 2. Fabric & Color Coordination Curate fabric pairings for living, bedroom, and commercial spaces. Advise on color psychology, texture, and fall of fabrics (e.g., sheers, velvet, blackout, linen). Job Description: Operations Manager (Procurement & Logistics) Company: House of Homes Furnishings Location: Shillong Showroom Department: Operations Reporting To: Founder / Director Role Overview The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the backend execution flow of orders — from fabric procurement to delivery. This includes placing fabric orders to suppliers, tracking incoming shipments, managing logistics, coordinating with the tailoring and installation teams, and ensuring timely delivery of all customer orders. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, proactive in communication, and capable of handling multiple suppliers and work orders simultaneously with strict attention to timelines and quality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Procurement & Supplier Coordination Receive fabric and material requirements from the sales/design team and raise purchase orders to suppliers within set timelines. Ensure accurate PO details — fabric name, color, meterage, price, expected dispatch date. Follow up with suppliers daily for acknowledgment, dispatch status, and delivery updates. Maintain supplier contact list and alternate sourcing options for urgent orders. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and freight terms where possible. 2. Logistics & Order Tracking Track all incoming shipments — courier, transporter, or self-pickup. Maintain a live “Fabric Tracking Sheet” showing PO raised → shipped → received → QC done. Handle transport arrangements for deliveries to tailors, job workers, and customers. Ensure proper documentation for all inward and outward goods. Follow up with logistics partners for delayed consignments and escalate issues promptly. 3. Internal Coordination Coordinate between showroom, tailoring unit, and installation team for smooth workflow. Maintain the order execution tracker to ensure no bottlenecks between fabric arrival → stitching → installation. Communicate daily status updates to showroom manager and founder. Prioritize urgent orders and manage workload distribution to external job workers if needed. 4. Inventory & Material Control Work with the storekeeper to record all fabric inward and issue slips correctly. Conduct weekly physical stock audits to ensure stock accuracy. Maintain records of cut fabric, leftover pieces, and reorders. Monitor fabric wastage and report discrepancies or pilferages immediately. 5. Reporting & Documentation Maintain and update all trackers: Purchase Orders, Supplier Dispatch List, Fabric Inward Register, Jobwork Tracker. Submit weekly MIS report to the founder covering pending POs, delays, vendor performance, and logistics expenses. Maintain filing system (digital and physical) for all POs, invoices, delivery challans, and GRNs. Key Skills & Competencies Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
