Farm Manager

Role Overview: As the Farm Manager at Green Country Organic Farm, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our organic farm, ensuring productivity, and contributing to our mission of sustainable farming. You will be responsible for managing crop planning, labor management, financial oversight, and maintaining organic and sustainable practices. Your expertise in crop management, irrigation systems, pest control, and soil health will be essential in meeting production targets. Key Responsibilities: - Operations Management: Supervise and manage daily farm operations, including crop cultivation, irrigation, pest control, and harvest schedules. - Crop Planning: Develop seasonal and annual crop plans, including rotation, polyhouse scheduling, and soil health maintenance. - Labor Management: Provide supervision and support to farm staff, ensuring efficient and timely completion of tasks. - Polyhouse Management: Manage polyhouse production, focusing on climate control, pest management, and yield optimization. - Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Create and oversee farm budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability. - Sustainability & Compliance: Implement organic farming practices and ensure adherence to organic certification requirements. - Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of seeds, fertilizers, and other supplies. - Data Management & Reporting: Record and analyze farm production data to make informed decisions and report on farm performance. Qualification Required: - Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in farm management, preferably in organic farming. - Polyhouse Management: Proficiency in managing polyhouses, including climate control and pest management. - Education: Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field preferred. - Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. - Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in crop management, irrigation systems, pest control, and soil health.
