Factory In-Charge

The Role

This is a mid-level role, reporting to the CEO.

Purpose:
To oversee production, maintenance, compliance, quality control, and overall factory operations to ensure smooth functioning, cost efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preventive maintenance of plant and machinery, production planning and control, optimizing capacity utilization, coordinating with sales for timely production, issuing materials, and ensuring proper dispatch protocols.

· Obtain and maintain certifications (CAA, ECOCERT, CIB, FCO license) and ensure adherence to Fire, Factory, Insurance, and Weights & Measurements Act.

· Implement and follow SOPs for quality and cost efficiency, submit random batch samples for testing, prepare for audits, and maintain updated documentation for internal and external audits.

· Maintain production batch records, material issue records, COA records, and dispatch records.

· Approve raw and packaging materials only after lab testing and ensure COA certification before dispatch.

· Optimize costs, analyze costing frameworks, and suggest process improvements.

· Oversee manpower and attendance, prepare monthly factory expense reports.

· Request vendor quotations, conduct cost comparisons, finalize orders, manage stock, submit material requests, maintain issuance records, and coordinate with accounts for stock checks.

Competencies Required

Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, preventive maintenance, and quality systems.- Understanding of compliance requirements, certifications, and audit processes.- Basic knowledge of Tally and MS Office applications.- Strong grasp of cost analysis, vendor management, and stock control.

Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.- Effective team management and coordination abilities.- Excellent communication skills.

Attitude:
- Results-driven with attention to detail.- Proactive and solution-oriented.- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

The Individual (Education & Experience)

Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Science / Management or related discipline.- 5+ years of experience in production, compliance, and factory operations.- Proven experience in managing audits, certifications, and SOP implementation.- Working knowledge of Tally.
