Facade Design Engineers

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Designer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the design and delivery of external façade packages, including roof lights and fenestration systems. You will play a critical role in supporting the Alufix project teams in delivering architecturally complex and technically demanding façade solutions for high-profile projects across the UK and Ireland. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders throughout the design, production, and installation phases of each project. Interpret architectural and engineering information to develop detailed design and fabrication drawings for façade systems. Prepare and manage design documentation including working drawings, flashing schedules, procurement schedules, and cutting lists aligned with project timelines. Supervise the work of junior designers, ensuring adherence to project procedures and quality standards. Attend project handovers, design meetings, and reviews to clarify project scope and identify areas requiring attention. Requirements Core Skills Required: Façade Design Expertise Deep understanding of external envelope systems, materials, and installation practices. Technical Drawing & CAD Proficiency Strong command of AutoCAD or similar design software for producing detailed fabrication drawings. Project Coordination & Communication Ability to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams and external consultants, with clear verbal and written communication. Problem Solving & Critical Thinking Capable of identifying design issues early and offering innovative, compliant solutions under time constraints. Leadership & Team Management Experience guiding junior designers and managing multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and deadlines.
