Fabric Sourcing Executive – Knits

• Source and develop

  knitted fabrics

  as per buyer requirements, cost targets, and timelines
• Drive

  new fabric development & innovation

  in knit structures and finishes
• Coordinate fabric sampling, lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk approvals
• Work closely with

  knitting, dyeing, printing & digital print mills

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and capacities with fabric vendors

• Ensure fabric quality consistency from development to bulk production

• Align fabric sourcing with production TNA

  and order timelines

• In-depth knowledge of

  knitting parameters

  (GSM, yarn count, gauge, stitch/loop length, shrinkage & recovery)
• Strong understanding of

  fabric dyeing processes

  (reactive, pigment, garment dye, yarn dye)
• Hands-on exposure to

  printing & digital printing technologies

• Awareness of fabric physical & chemical testing parameters

  , including:
• Shrinkage, color fastness, pilling, GSM variation
• Azo dyes, formaldehyde, heavy metals, restricted substances
• Experience working with

  GOTS & OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics

• Prior experience in an

  apparel export setup

• Familiarity with global buyer standards and testing protocols

• Coordination with merchandising, QA, and production teams

• Strong fabric sourcing & vendor management skills
• Commercial mindset with negotiation capability
• Excellent coordination & follow-up skills

• MS Excel proficiency

  for fabric tracking, costing & MIS
• ERP / PLM exposure is a plus

• 3–5 years of experience in

  knitted fabric sourcing

• Proven exposure to new fabric creation & development

• Experience working with export buyers / global brands

• Knowledge of sustainable and certified fabric programs

  preferred
