Job Description

As a Banquet Captain at Marriott International, your role involves ensuring that the staff works cohesively as a team to deliver exceptional service to guests. You will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the grooming and attire of the staff, rectifying any deficiencies promptly. Your communication skills will be crucial in liaising with guests, other departments, and employees to meet guest needs effectively. Your attention to detail is paramount as you set up the banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper placement of furniture and equipment. Additionally, you will be expected to uphold company standards by inspecting and maintaining table set-ups, resolving any issues promptly, and documenting relevant information in the department logbook. Key Responsibilities: - Inspect grooming and attire of staff, rectifying any deficiencies - Communicate effectively with guests, other employees, and departments to ensure guest needs are met - Set up banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper placement of furniture/equipment - Inspect and maintain table set-ups for cleanliness, neatness, and compliance with group requirements and company standards - Assist management in various HR functions such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees - Maintain positive working relationships with team members and support common goals - Adhere to company, safety, and security policies and procedures - Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional - Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards - Anticipate and address guests" service needs promptly - Speak with others using clear and professional language - Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards - Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, lifting objects, and moving over different surfaces - Perform any other reasonable job duties as requested Qualifications Required: - Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent - Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience - Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience - License or Certification: None At Marriott International, we are committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunities to all individuals and celebrating the unique backgrounds and experiences of our associates.
