20 Downtown is a premium heritage banquet in Churchgate that hosts weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.


We’re known for our elegant architecture, warm hospitality, and seamless experiential flow — from the first enquiry to the last guest leaving happy.


As we grow, we are strengthening our operations team to ensure the venue is always guest-ready, events run smoothly, and clients experience reliable, high-touch hospitality.


Role Overview


We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Event Operations Associate to manage operational excellence and on-ground execution at 20 Downtown.


This role is primarily operations-focused, but may also support client interactions, walkthroughs, and coordination when needed — making it a versatile hybrid profile with room to grow.


In addition to venue responsibilities, you may also work on event-based projects outside the banquet when required (such as curated experiences, partnered festivals or hospitality-led events), depending on the projects the team is handling at the time.

Key Responsibilities


1. Venue Readiness & Daily Operations


  • Ensure the venue is guest-ready (cleanliness, AC, lighting, furniture layout)
  • Maintain daily checklists and operational SOPs
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and facility teams
  • Identify maintenance issues and escalate promptly




2. Event Setup & On-Ground Execution


  • Supervise decor setups, staging, catering access, and furniture placement
  • Coordinate with caterers, planners, décor teams, production vendors & photographers
  • Manage vendor entry, setup flow, and on-ground event timeline
  • Support clients during events with operational assistance
  • Oversee teardown and reset the venue for the next event


3. Vendor & Partner Coordination


  • Act as a point of contact for all vendors during pre-event and event hours
  • Maintain punctuality, quality standards, and clear communication
  • Ensure vendors follow venue guidelines and safety norms


4. Inventory & Material Management


  • Track linens, AV items, décor elements, and utility supplies
  • Maintain organised storage and handle replenishment
  • Prepare inventory usage logs and reports


5. Client Experience Support


  • Assist with walkthroughs and on-ground client coordination when required
  • Step in for basic communication or handovers on busy or overlapping days
  • Work closely with the Guest Relations team to ensure seamless overall execution


6. External Event Support


  • Depending on ongoing projects: Support event-based assignments outside the venue, such as curated hospitality events, festival collaborations, or partner-led experiences that are being worked on by the Founders


  • Assist with pre-production, logistics, on-ground execution, and backend coordination


  • Bring strong operational discipline and reliability to all project environments




7. Documentation & Reporting


  • Maintain event logs, checklists, vendor timing sheets, and daily reports
  • Share operational updates with management
  • Help refine SOPs and processes as operations scale


Requirements


1–3 years of experience in events/operations/production

Hands-on, proactive and comfortable in on-ground environments

Strong coordination skills with vendors, workers, and clients

Calm under pressure with good problem-solving ability

Organised, reliable, and comfortable working weekends & event hours

Basic Excel/Sheets knowledge


Location


20 Downtown, Churchgate, Mumbai (with occasional local travel for external event projects)
