Job Description

Job Title: EV Maintenance Head Department: Operations / Engineering / Maintenance Location: Kolkata Reporting To: City Head Job Summary: The EV Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the maintenance operations of electric vehicles (2W/3W/4W/commercial fleet), ensuring vehicle uptime, service quality, and regulatory compliance. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement to enhance performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the EV fleet. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for EVs and associated components (batteries, charging units, controllers, etc.). Team Leadership: Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and support staff across multiple service centers or locations. Vendor & Workshop Management: Coordinate with third-party service providers, authorized workshops, and spare part vendors to ensure timely and quality repairs. Battery & Charging Infrastructure Oversight: Supervise the health and lifecycle of EV batteries, charging infrastructure maintenance, and power management systems. Data Monitoring & Reporting: Use telematics, diagnostic tools, and IoT data to monitor vehicle health, analyze trends, and take proactive measures. Inventory & Cost Management: Maintain optimal inventory of spares and consumables, control costs, and reduce downtime and repair expenses. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to industry safety standards, regulatory norms, and environmental practices related to EV maintenance. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization, implement best practices, and adopt new technologies or tools for improved service efficiency. Key Skills Required: Strong knowledge of EV architecture - Fleet Experinece Must Experience with diagnostics tools and maintenance software Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills Hands-on experience in managing EV fleets or service operations Knowledge of safety, compliance, and environmental regulations Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering (Master’s preferred) 7–10 years of experience in vehicle maintenance, with at least 3 years in EV-specific roles Experience in managing large fleets, preferably in logistics, shared mobility, or OEMs
