Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager with strong technical foundations and proven team

leadership experience. In this role, you will drive engineering execution, guide architectural discussions, and lead a talented group of engineers toward high-quality and timely delivery. You will partner closely with Product and cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and execute

strategic initiatives while fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

Experience Required

• Minimum 6-8 years of total experience in software engineering.
• Minimum 2-3 years managing engineering teams (people management + delivery ownership).
• 4-5 years prior hands-on development and architectural experience.
• Experience in product-first or high-growth environments preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers which may span across backend, frontend, and mobile domains.
• Own planning, execution, and delivery across sprints and engineering cycles.
• Translate PRDs and business requirements into structured technical execution plans.
• Provide architectural direction and technical clarity while empowering engineers to execute.
• Establish and maintain engineering workflows for planning, estimation, code review, release readiness, and deployment.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Design to ensure efficient and predictable delivery.
• Monitor and improve engineering KPIs including sprint velocity, bug ratio, release quality and SLA adherence.
• Identify and remove delivery bottlenecks, ensuring smooth execution and team productivity.
• Take and participate in Scrums, sprint planning
• Maintain high standards for documentation, communication, and delivery reporting.
• Drive team hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and capability building.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable system patterns.
• Familiarity with modern backend and frontend technologies and microservices fundamentals.
• Working understanding of cloud concepts (AWS/Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and engineering collaboration tools.
• Ability to break down tasks, estimate complexity, and manage engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with focus on KPIs, delivery metrics, and quality standards.
• Ability and experience of hands on coding
• Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop engineering talent.
