Co‑Founder – HVAC / Air Purification Engineer (Equity Only)

A new venture is being formed to design and build an innovative air purifier product line focused on high‑pollution and industrial/urban environments. The founding team is looking for a Co‑Founder (HVAC / Air Purification Engineer) who will lead the complete technical side of the air purifier design and development, in return for meaningful equity rather than salary at this stage.

About the venture

Early‑stage founding team currently forming a company around next‑generation air purification solutions.Vision is to combine HVAC engineering, filtration technology and smart design to create efficient, reliable and cost‑effective air purifiers for homes, offices and light industrial spaces.

Your role as Co‑Founder

Own the technical roadmap for the first air purifier product: from concept and requirements to working prototypes and refinement.Design the full system architecture: airflow path, fan/blower selection, filter stages (pre‑filter, HEPA, activated carbon, etc.), noise and energy optimization.Select materials and internal surface treatments to reduce fouling, improve hygiene and extend component life.Develop CAD models, basic simulations (airflow, pressure drop) and collaborate with fabricators/OEMs to build and test prototypes.Define test procedures for CADR, noise levels, power consumption and filter life, and support any required certifications.Work with the business co‑founders on product‑market fit, pricing and positioning, and join key customer/partner discussions as the technical face of the product.

What you should bring

Background in Mechanical / HVAC / Product Design engineering with strong understanding of airflow, fans, filters and indoor air quality.Experience with air purifiers, AHUs, ventilation or filtration systems (design, installation, or testing) is a strong plus.Ability to convert real‑world air quality issues (dust, smoke, VOCs, microbes) into clear design requirements and measurable specs.Entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with uncertainty, and willingness to build processes and documentation from scratch.Ready to commit consistent time (part‑time or full‑time, to be discussed) as a true co‑founder, not just a consultant.

Equity & compensation

Equity‑only co‑founder role at the current stage; there is no salary or stipend until funding and/or revenue milestones are reached.Exact equity percentage, vesting schedule and formal title (e.g., Co‑Founder – Air Purification / Co‑Founder & CTO – HVAC Systems) will be discussed based on experience and time commitment.
