This role is with one of our clients which is currently engaged in exciting projects in the development and supply of special-purpose mechatronic and robotic systems for the Defence, Aerospace, and Healthcare industries.

Responsibilities of Embedded Systems Engineer

Embedded Hardware:

• Assessing and Selecting components (MCU, electric, electronic, connectors)
• Designing embedded systems architecture including I/Os, Power Delivery, PCB layouts
• Develop custom PCBs and coordinate with vendors
• Using calculations and simulations to design analog and digital circuits
• Uphold hardware design standards and methodologies with focus on safety and design for regulatory compliance
• Prototype and test embedded systems
• Support system integration, debugging and maintenance 

Embedded Software

• Designing Embedded software architecture
• Develop firmware, device drivers and software in accordance with coding standards
• Debug, optimize, test and deploy system software
• Ensure quality of software and regulatory compliance as per requirements
• Design and development of UI
• Create and maintain design and testing documentation 

Skills

• Proven experience in embedded systems development
• Very good knowledge of analog and digital circuit development
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Experience with schematic design, PCB layouts, simulation software
• Experience of working with different hardware targets (NI, TI, ARM-based etc.)
• Experience with designing to EMC/EMI/ESD and safety regulatory certifications
• Experience with hardware testing equipment
• Solid programming experience in C and Python
• Experience with embedded Linux and RTOS
• Strong knowledge and programming experience of interfaces, IP protocols, and hardware subsystems
• Experience in debugging and using debugging tools
• Understanding of design, coding, and regulatory standards
• Experience with system integration and SIL, HIL testing

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Information Technology or a comparable degree
