Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical components in the Baggage Handling System (BHS). The role ensures smooth operation of electrical systems including motors, sensors, panels, and field devices in compliance with safety and airport standards. ✅ Key Responsibilities: 🔌 1. Electrical Installation Install cable trays, conduit, panels, field devices, and control panels. Perform cable laying, glanding, and termination as per electrical drawings. Assist in earthing and lightning protection systems. ⚡ 2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Conduct routine checks on motors, VFDs, control panels, and safety devices. Replace or repair damaged wiring, relays, limit switches, and sensors. Maintain lighting, power sockets, and emergency stop systems in BHS zones. 🧰 3. Fault Finding & Troubleshooting Use tools like multimeters, megger, and clamp meters to identify faults. Diagnose motor failures, control circuit faults, and field wiring issues. Assist automation team in resolving PLC-related I/O faults. 📋 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily checklists, maintenance logs, and service reports. Record breakdown time, fault nature, and resolution details. Report unsafe conditions or repeat faults to shift in-charge. 👷 5. Safety Compliance Follow electrical safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO). Ensure proper use of PPE while working on live or high-voltage panels. Attend toolbox talks and report near-miss or hazard conditions. 🛠️ Tools & Equipment Knowledge: Multimeter, Megger, Clamp Meter, Test Lamp Panel Boards, MCBs, Relays, VFDs Limit switches, proximity sensors, encoders 📚 Qualifications & Skills: ITI / Diploma in Electrical or equivalent 2–5 years of experience in industrial/BHS electrical work Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring schematics Familiar with BHS or conveyor system preferred Basic knowledge of PLC signals and SCADA monitoring is a plus Show more Show less
