Electrical Technician

Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling control panels, performing internal wiring, terminating field cables, and wiring instruments in accordance with approved drawings and applicable Indian and IEC standards. The role requires hands-on experience in panel workshop activities as well as field instrumentation wiring, testing, and commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities:

Control Panel Assembly:

* Assemble electrical and instrumentation control panels such as MCC panels, PLC panels, VFD panels, RTU panels, and JB panels.

* Mount MCCBs, MCBs, contractors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, SMPS, terminal blocks, barriers, isolators, and surge protectors.

* Ensure proper mechanical mounting, labeling, and workmanship.

Panel Wiring & Termination:

* Perform internal panel wiring for power, control, and instrumentation circuits.

* Carry out cable termination using ferrules, lugs, glands, and terminal blocks.

* Maintain proper cable dressing, segregation, and earthing.

* Follow wire color coding and numbering as per drawings.

Field Instrument Knowledge & Wiring:

* Basic knowledge of pressure, level, flow, and temperature instruments.

* Carry out field cable termination at instruments, junction boxes, marshalling panels, and control panels.

* Perform loop wiring for 4–20 mA, digital, and pulse signals.

* Ensure correct polarity, shielding, grounding, and gland selection.

Standards & Compliance:

* Work in compliance with Indian Standards (IS) and IEC standards.

* Follow best practices for instrumentation wiring and earthing.

* Comply with hazardous area requirements where applicable.

Testing & Commissioning Support:

* Perform continuity and insulation resistance tests.

* Assist during FAT, SAT, loop checking, and commissioning.

* Rectify punch points identified during inspection.

Qualifications & Experience:

* ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

* 3–7 years of experience in control panel and field instrumentation work.

Skills:

* Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring, and loop diagrams.

* Hands-on experience with crimping tools, multimeter, IR tester.

* Good troubleshooting and coordination skills.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
