Electrical Engineer

Job Description – Electrical Engineer (Site) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to manage and supervise day-to-day activities at project sites. The role involves site supervision, material management, labour coordination, quality checks, and ensuring that all electrical works are executed in line with approved drawings, timelines, budgets, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Site Supervision Conduct daily site visits to monitor ongoing electrical works. Ensure work execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and contractors for smooth workflow. Material Management Supervise loading/unloading of materials at site. Verify material received against Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders (WOs). Maintain records and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies. Ensure proper storage and handling of electrical materials. Labour & Contractor Coordination Coordinate with labour contractors/workforce to complete work as per drawings. Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity. Resolve site-level technical queries raised by contractors or labourers. Work Monitoring & Reporting Submit daily progress reports and highlight site challenges to management. Maintain site logs including manpower, material usage, and work completion. Flag potential delays or risks for timely resolution. Quality & Safety Compliance Inspect installations for compliance with approved designs and standards. Ensure adherence to safety norms (PPE usage, safe practices). Identify and rectify workmanship defects or deviations. Billing & Documentation Verify RA (Running Account) bills and measurement sheets submitted by subcontractors. Assist in preparation of project reports, documentation, and handover checklists. General Responsibilities Liaise with consultants, architects, and client representatives during inspections. Coordinate with procurement team on material needs and delivery schedules. Support in testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems. Troubleshoot site-level technical issues and provide solutions. Guide and train site supervisors, technicians, and helpers when required. Desired Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s/Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 2–5 years of experience in electrical contracting/site supervision (freshers may be considered for junior roles). Strong knowledge of electrical systems, drawings, and safety norms. Proven ability to manage labour and contractors effectively. Good communication and reporting skills. Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
