Position Overview (Center for Economy and Trade):

Center for Economy and Trade at CRF aims to shape the policy debate on how to foster a resilient and inclusive global economy. It is a progressive center devoted to addressing critical global issues within the realms of economics, trade, and commerce.

The Center of Economy and Trade is accepting applications for a Sr. Research Associate.

The Senior Research Associate will report directly to the Senior/Associate Fellow of CRF and is expected to conduct in-depth, high quality public policy research in areas of their expertise; support in publications and engage with stakeholders to promote our events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead research initiatives on economic and trade policies, focusing on global and domestic trends.
• Supervise research assistants and associates, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Develop analytical frameworks and econometric models to evaluate trade performance, economic policies, and market dynamics.
• Develop research proposals and secure funding for projects.
• Represent CRF at conferences, seminars, and other public forums.
• Produce and publish high-quality research in academic journals and policy-oriented publications.
• Lead meetings and establish quarterly research goals and targets for the research team.
• Oversee projects and discussions, including planning, budget management, and coordination responsibilities.
• Establish a network of industry participants, collaborate with partners and other influential stakeholders to enhance CRF's events and communication efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Master’s/ Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Economics, International Trade, Public Policy or a related field.
• Minimum 3–8 years of experience in policy research, economic analysis, or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale research projects.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and policy platforms.
• Proficiency in econometric modelling and data analysis using tools like STATA, R, or Python.
• Strong understanding of international trade theories, WTO agreements, and domestic economic policies.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Excellent networking and public speaking abilities.
