SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY
Chief Responsibilities
- Conducting E&S risk assessments for eligible transactions in line with the Bank’s approved process
- Managing E&S risk assessments including assigning E&S risk categorization, recommending E&S covenants as per assigned risk categorization, Detailed Environment and Social Due-Diligence (E&S DD) assessment (if required) and implementation of Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) with agreed timelines (if required)
- Periodic discussion with vendors (third party consultants), internal stakeholders (relevant teams) and external stakeholders (such as borrowers/clients) on aspects related to ESG compliances
- Communicating relevant information on ESG aspects with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrable work experience in conducting and managing Environment and Social Due-Diligence (E&S DD) Assessments, Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) based on global E&S frameworks developed by DFIs such as International Finance Corporation (IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) etc across multiple sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure (airports, ports, highways etc.), industrial (pharma, chemical etc.), general manufacturing, industrial estates etc.
- Technical knowledge of Indian EHS and labour regulatory framework and international ESG risk assessments frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards, ADB’s Safeguard Policy, AIIB’s Environment & Social Framework etc.
- Experience in formulating, implementing and monitoring of Environment & Social Action Plan (ESAP)
- Ensuring adherence to the credit policy and process.
- Review exceptions and approval for knocking.

Risk And Internal Control Responsibilities
- Identify the gaps in the process & highlights to the Senior Management
- Suggestion for changes in Policy
SECTION IV: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE
Minimum Qualifications
Masters in Environment/ Social Science, Sustainability or similar discipline
Professional Certifications
IRCA certified ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 lead/internal auditor
Language Skills
- Written and spoken English is essential with basic soft skills
Experience
Years of Experience
Minimum of 2 to 4 years of work experience in Consulting
Nature Of Experience
Experience in conducting Environmental & Social Due Diligence(E&SDD), Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), EHS Legal Compliance Audits, Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) etc.Good understanding of E&S compliance requirements, IFC PS framework, World Bank EHS Guidelines and implementation of the same across various industry sectors
