Role Description

Hiring: Drilling Head – Mining

Location:

Drilling Head

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Oversight:

  Provide strategic direction and hands-on supervision of drilling operations across multiple sites.

• Safety & Compliance:

  Ensure strict adherence to

  HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards

  , implementing best practices to safeguard people and equipment.

• Team Leadership:

  Build, manage, and mentor diverse drilling teams while fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture.

• Operational Management:

  Monitor drilling activities, track KPIs, and ensure targets are achieved on time and within budget.

• Equipment Management:

  Oversee drilling equipment usage, preventive maintenance, and downtime reduction strategies.

• Problem-Solving & Optimization:

  Identify operational bottlenecks, resolve technical issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

• Cross-Department Collaboration:

  Work closely with geology, mining, engineering, and project management teams to align drilling plans with business goals.

• Reporting:

  Deliver accurate and timely reports on operational progress, safety performance, and cost efficiency to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Engineering, Geology, Mining, or a related field

  (Master’s degree preferred).

• 25+ years of proven experience

  in drilling operations within the mining or oil & gas sector.
• At least

  10 years in a senior leadership role

  overseeing large teams and complex drilling projects.
• Strong expertise in

  drilling technology, equipment management, and advanced drilling techniques

  .
• Exceptional understanding of

  safety regulations and industry compliance standards

  .
• Strong decision-making, troubleshooting, and crisis management skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership qualities.
• Global exposure or experience in challenging mining environments will be an added advantage.
