Role summary:

This is a freelance consultant / advisory role and not a full-time role. You can work remotely. You will be paid a fixed hourly rate for the hours delivered.

We are looking for an experienced clinician who can shape how diabetes care shows up in a real tech product. You will advise and work with our product team, bringing strong systems thinking and product thinking to build, review and refine clinical protocols for Tap Health’s fully autonomous AI-driven diabetes therapeutic.

What you’ll do

• Co create and review protocol logic for onboarding, triage, glucose feedback, medications, lifestyle and follow ups
• Translate guidelines into clear decision flows, state machines and safety guardrails
• Define red flags, escalation paths and safe boundaries for automated advice
• Advise on data capture, outcome measures and patient education content
• Run periodic audits, spot failure modes and recommend iterative fixes with product and engineering

Must have

• MD in Internal Medicine or DM/DNB in Endocrinology
• 8+ years of clinical experience managing Type 2 diabetes
• Strong working knowledge of ADA, IDF, RSSDI and ICMR guidelines
• Deep understanding of lifestyle interventions, CGM interpretation and risk stratification
• Ability to turn clinical standards into actionable specs and flowcharts
• Clear writing and comfort collaborating with designers, engineers and data scientists

Nice to have

• Experience with digital therapeutics, protocol design or clinical QA
• Designed or run outcomes studies; comfort with IRB/ethics submissions and data privacy basics
• Comfortable critiquing UX flows and translating feedback into product specs
• Publications, conference talks, or guideline contributions in diabetes or digital health
