We are looking for a Director of Engineering to join our team in Noida to own and drive meaningful parts of this business.In this role, you will lead a high-impact, multidisciplinary team of 30+ engineers in a fast-paced environment that operates like a startup within Adobe. You will spearhead the end-to-end software development for critical components of Firefly Enterprise, revolutionizing creativity for enterprise users globally.We are seeking a leader who can bridge the gap between complex ML models and scalable production services. - Engineering Leadership: Lead and grow a distributed engineering organization of 30+ professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence, inclusion, and outcome-focused execution.
- Strategic Vision: Define and drive the technical vision for scalable software systems that power Firefly Enterprise. Balance technical depth with discernment to articulate both near-term action plans and compelling long-term strategies.
- ML Service Architecture: Oversee the design and implementation of robust services and infrastructure required to support and operationalize machine learning models at an enterprise scale.
- End-to-End Ownership: Drive the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for your business unit, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of production systems.
- Cross-Geo Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, ML research, and other engineering teams across geographies (US, Europe, India) to align on priorities and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Innovation & Agility: Cultivate a "startup" attitude within the team—encouraging rapid prototyping, experimentation, and a "fail forward" approach to deliver innovations that elevate the customer experience.
- Operational Excellence: Define, measure, and continuously improve engineering productivity by setting benchmark metrics and SLAs, ensuring reliability and data quality across platforms.
What you need to succeed
- Experience: 18+ years of experience in software development and building scalable systems, with at least 3–5 years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Technical Expertise: Deep experience in building high-availability, large-scale distributed systems and microservices. Proficiency in modern software engineering practices (CI/CD, Git, Agile).
- ML Integration: Strong experience writing and maintaining services that support/wrap ML models. You understand the specific challenges of deploying AI at scale (latency, inference costs, model versioning).
- Global Leadership: A proven track record of leading large, geo-distributed engineering organizations and managing multi-functional relationships effectively.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a track record of delivering impactful solutions in a complex, fast-moving business environment.
- Education: MS or BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in media, graphics, or creative tools domains.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) from a deployment/infrastructure perspective.
