DevOps Engineer

contractual hybrid position

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust

  CI/CD pipelines

  (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Automate deployment of

  containerized applications

  using

  Docker

  ,

  Kubernetes (EKS)

  , or

  AWS ECS

• Collaborate with frontend/backend teams to support Material UI rollouts and API integrations
• Integrate and manage

  MIG connectors

  and

  EMR workflows

  within NHS data ecosystems
• Set up and monitor infrastructure using

  CloudWatch

  and third-party observability tools
• Utilize

  AWS services

  (EC2, IAM, Secrets Manager, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch) for scalable environments
• Manage infrastructure using

  Terraform

  or

  AWS CDK

  (Infrastructure as Code)
• Ensure healthcare data compliance by implementing

  FHIR R4 UK

  ,

  SNOMED CT

  , and

  data freshness strategies

• Automate infrastructure tasks and monitoring with

  Python

  and

  Bash scripting

• Support secure deployments using

  role-based access

  , authentication, and authorization mechanisms
• Work in

  Agile teams

  using

  Rally

  or similar tools; contribute to sprints and release planning
• Maintain version control and deployment hygiene in

  mono-repo environments

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4–6 years of DevOps experience in regulated environments (preferably healthcare)
• Proficiency in

  AWS services

  (EC2, ECS, EKS, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch)
• Strong command of

  CI/CD tools

  (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Experience with

  Docker

  ,

  Kubernetes

  , and container orchestration
• Hands-on experience with

  Terraform

  or

  AWS CDK

• Proficient in scripting with

  Python

  and

  Bash

• Familiarity with

  FHIR R4 UK

  ,

  SNOMED CT

  , and

  NHS interoperability standards

• Exposure to

  MIG connectors

  ,

  EMR systems

  , and

  data caching/performance strategies

• Understanding of

  Agile methodologies

  and tools like

  Rally

• Security awareness around

  auth/auth

  , data suppression, and healthcare compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in

  NHS or regulated healthcare environments

• Knowledge of

  Prometheus

  Grafana

  , or

  ELK Stack

• Exposure to

  feature flag management

  and

  blue-green deployments

• AWS certifications

  (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus
