Design Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Design Engineer - Manufacturing

Location: Chakan, Pune

Reporting to: Head – Design & Engineering / COO

Role Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating accurate and production-ready drawings for refrigerated truck bodies, panels, and related assemblies. The role involves close coordination with production, sales, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and delivered on time. The engineer will also contribute to new product development and work alongside German engineering teams on select projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & GA Drawings

GA drawings

·       Ensure drawings are released on time to support uninterrupted manufacturing.

·       Revise drawings based on production feedback and change requests.

2. BOM & Documentation

Bills of Materials (BOMs)

·       Support costing and procurement teams with technical inputs.

·       Ensure proper version control and documentation discipline.

3. Manufacturing Support

·       Coordinate with production teams to resolve design-related issues on the shop floor.

·       Support quality and inspection teams with technical clarifications.

4. New Product Development

·       Participate in testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities.

·       Contribute to cost-reduction and standardization initiatives.

5. Global Collaboration

German engineering teams

·       Interpret and adapt international designs, standards, and best practices to Indian manufacturing conditions.

·       Support technical discussions, documentation exchange, and design localization.

Qualifications & Skills

Mechanical Engineering

manufacturing or fabrication environment

AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor / similar CAD tools

fabrication, sheet metal, panels, and assemblies

BOMs, drawings standards, and tolerances

·       Good communication skills and willingness to work cross-functionally.
