Job Purpose - To lead and manage design activities for new and existing products, including product development, tooling design, design validation, and cost optimization. The role focuses on delivering cost-effective, manufacturable, and quality-compliant designs aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead new product design and development activities from concept to SOP.
• Manage tooling design, fixture design, and gauge design.
• Prepare, review, and maintain design data, drawings, and documentation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Purchase, Tool Room) for design feasibility and implementation.
• Validate designs through testing, trials, and design verification.
• Identify and resolve design failures, manufacturing issues, and field feedback.
• Drive cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality and functionality.
• Support product indigenization and localization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal processes.

Costing & Cost Optimization Responsibilities

• Prepare product costing during RFQ and development stages.
• Analyze material, tooling, process, and conversion costs.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering and design optimization.
• Support should-cost analysis and benchmarking against competitors.
• Evaluate cost impact of design changes, ECNs, and revisions.
• Work closely with Purchase and Finance for cost feasibility and approvals.
• Track and report cost savings achieved through design improvements.

Daily Tasks

• 3D and 2D CAD creation and modification.
• Design revisions for existing products and legacy designs.
• Coordination with internal teams for design clarifications and improvements.

Weekly Tasks

• Development of new products and tools for Company
• Reverse engineering of competitor products and processes.
• Design reviews and progress tracking.

Monthly Tasks

• Seat design, gauge design, and fixture design activities.
• Costing analysis and design feasibility studies.
• Support tooling trials and production readiness.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
