Role Description

Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D designs for:
• Injection moulds and die components
• Jigs and fixtures for production and inspection
• Special-purpose machines and custom assemblies
• Plastic and metal product parts
• Collaborate with production and R&D teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of designs
• Modify and revise designs as per feedback from shop floor or project requirements
• Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
• Support prototype development and tooling trials
• Conduct design reviews and implement design improvements for cost, efficiency, and quality
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards and internal specifications

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in design engineering
• Proficient in

  Siemens NX / Unigraphics

  and

  SolidWorks

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD tools is a plus
• Strong understanding of

  mould design

  ,

  machine design

  ,

  jigs and fixtures

  , and

  product/part design

• Knowledge of materials, tolerancing (GD&T), DFM/DFA principles
• Hands-on exposure to machining or manufacturing processes is an advantage
• Previous experience in the medical device industry is advantageous
