Department: Design Job Title: Design Engineer Reports To: Head of Design, PIPL Location: Goa Job Purpose Overview: The Design Engineer will be based at the Goa factory and will focus on continuous product improvement by addressing current production and field-related issues. The role involves providing actionable resolutions and suggestions for product and process enhancements. The engineer will work in close collaboration with the Goa production team and the Pune-based design team to ensure alignment between design and manufacturing. Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities: Analyze and address improvement requirements for Line Pumps and Boom Pumps. Collaborate with production teams to solve design-related issues during pump assembly. Work with quality and service teams to identify and resolve field design issues. Lead resolution initiatives and ensure closure within defined timelines. Support efficiency, quality, and safety enhancements in production processes. Identify and implement VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) ideas. Coordinate with the Pune design team to ensure alignment with design intent and manage deviations. Perform root cause analysis for production/service issues and recommend corrective actions. Modify designs based on production feedback and support ongoing improvements. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations. Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including process maps, assembly guidelines, and standards. Secondary Responsibilities: Support the development and rollout of new products, ensuring smooth transition from design to manufacturing. Participate in periodic production reviews to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience: Minimum 4 years in a similar role, preferably in the heavy machinery or construction equipment industry. Certifications/Licenses: Proficiency in CAD tools such as Solid Edge and AutoCAD is required. Certification or working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is an added advantage. Special Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Capability to work collaboratively across departments. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹213,949.78 - ₹533,468.01 per year Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person Expected Start Date: 01/06/2025
