The role involves utilizing SolidWorks/Windchill to create intricate models, drawings, sketches and validating the products Duties & Responsibilities: Design
•Model and design projects using SolidWorks
•Prior experience working with windchill. •Knowledge on product design.
•Taking a sketched concept and designing a 3D model using SolidWorks. •Make child part/ assembly level customer approval drawings.
•Verify and validate design using theoretical calculation.
•Work with project managers on designs and timelines. Interact with support teams regarding part durability, cost effectiveness and manufacturing feasibility.
•Communicate with customers during technical interactions.
•Design verification/ validation before finalization.
•Travel to testing sites/ manufacturing plants/ customer place if needed.
•Improve existing product designs in terms efficiency or eliminating pain points
•Communicate with suppliers on design feasibility, queries, selection of material, etc.
•Reverse engineering customer designs if needed or creating 2D/ 3D for built to print projects.
•Software level manufacturing/assembly check like draft analysis, clearance analysis, simulation, advanced mates, etc.
•Theoretical assembly check like tolerance stack up, process flow chart, etc.
•APQP Knowledge of phase 1, phase 2 documentation
•DFMEA for all products designed by them
•Design review other designers to help catch design flaws
