Job Description – Deputy Vice President (DVP) – Cluster Sales India Role Overview The Deputy Vice President – Cluster Sales will be responsible for driving retail and premium card sales, expanding customer acquisition channels, ensuring compliance, and leading high-performing teams across the assigned cluster/state. The role demands strong business acumen, stakeholder management, people leadership, and a sharp focus on profitability and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities1. MOU Achievement & Sales Targets Deliver 1.5L – 3L new accounts annually with desired channel and portfolio mix.
Drive sales of premium cards (3K, 5K variants) to enhance profitability.
Cross-sell insurance and other financial products.
Manage cost of acquisition, optimize people productivity, and ensure ROI on sourcing.
2. Organized Retail Sourcing & Distribution Management Expand retail presence across airports, premium malls, and organized retail outlets to acquire high-quality customers.
Develop sourcing opportunities at railway & metro stations.
Build, strengthen, and manage relationships with co-brand partners (BPCL, Landmark, Tata, Nature Basket).
Ensure seamless operations, escalations handling, and high conversion ratios through Face-to-Face sourcing.
3. Internal Stakeholder Management Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer complaints within defined TAT.
Ensure smooth handling of VIP and sensitive cases.
Partner with WE team to drive NFTE lifecycle management.
Monitor sales compliance, audits, policy adherence, and corrective actions.
4. People Leadership & Performance Management Plan and execute FTE & NFTE hiring across locations to meet business targets.
Coach, mentor, and groom high-potential talent and second-line leaders.
Drive regular team connects, reviews, and training with extensive travel across the cluster.
Create a culture of performance, ownership, and accountability.
5. Strategic Initiatives & Digital Transformation Champion digital sourcing initiatives (BRE Digital Sourcing, instant approval models, etc.) for cost reduction and efficiency.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective strategies.
Align with organizational projects and ensure smooth adoption by extended sales teams.
6. Productivity & Business Development Drive benchmark productivity levels for FTE/NFTE teams, both front-end and back-end.
Explore and expand into Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities for sustainable growth.
Monitor competition, conduct SWOT analysis, and implement corrective measures.
Develop new sourcing avenues for long-term growth and profitability.
7. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to all regulatory, business, and compliance guidelines.
Partner with compliance teams to institutionalize best practices across sales processes.
Key Skills & Competencies:-Strong sales & business development expertise in retail financial services.
Proven track record in premium card sales, co-brand partnerships, and customer acquisition.
Leadership in managing large sales teams across geographies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent stakeholder management & relationship-building skills.
Ability to drive digital adoption, process optimization, and cost efficiency.
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in financial services.
Qualifications & Experience:- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or related fields.
12–18 years of experience in retail banking, cards, or financial services, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated success in scaling business, managing clusters, and driving profitability.
