Job Description

Reinsurance Finance function in India primarily supports the quarterly closing and reporting process of Reinsurance Business. There are different sub-processes performed by Reinsurance Financial Reporting team in India which includes but is not limited to: Quarter end Close Process, Reporting Process, Reconciliation Process, Business Analysis Process, etc. This position will be leading the OBU Reporting activities for XL Reinsurance America business.

What youll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include
  • Preparation of Reinsurance Financial Reporting activities for North America Reinsurance business.
  • Responsible for end-to-end detailed analysis of MBR walk and commentary on Actual vs Budget and Actual vs Prior Year.
  • Responsible for Financial close, Reporting and analytical activities, preparation of analytical management reports for North America Financial Reporting team
  • Analysis of Income Statement, Balance Sheet line items along with commentaries & Presentations for Senior Management/Controllers.
  • Responsible for preparing quarterly reconciliation which include Accounts Receivable and Payable Reconciliation, Post close cash Reconciliation etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement or Process improvement initiative related to North America BAU tasks/activities.
  • Support management team on regular basis for any ad-hoc request.
  • Maintain effective communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Support Ad-hoc activities / projects.
You will report to Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Accounting and Analytical skills: Qualified CA with relevant experience or MBA Finance with relevant experience in Financial Accounting & Internal reporting.
  • Excellent Accounting knowledge.
  • Good Analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Good exposure of working on Excel and Presentations. Knowledge of VBA is an added advantage.
  • Communication skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office skills: Should have robust MS Excel skills.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross-geographic and cross-cultural team.
  • Good team player and ability to work resiliently.
  • Outstanding customer-focus and results oriented.
  • Innovative and process improvement mindset.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience of financial reporting, insurance accounting, insurance and reinsurance industry.
