Position Overview
The Embedded PMU Staff – Animal Husbandry will anchor program delivery within the Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP). The role serves as the link between livestock policy, digital service delivery, and Rythu Seva Kendra (RSK) operations, ensuring effective integration of animal husbandry programs with the GoAP PMU digital initiatives framework.

 2 years, renewable based on performance
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Align departmental priorities (breed improvement, vaccination, insurance, AI services, fodder support) with real-time data from RSKs and field systems.
-  Data & Advisory Management:
 
Validate livestock population data, vaccination coverage, and disease surveillance; ensure timely veterinary interventions via RSK dashboards.
Support adoption of AI-powered livestock advisory tools; maintain interoperability with other GoAP digital systems.
Coordinate district-level breeding, fodder, and disease prevention campaigns with District Implementation Cells and veterinary officers.
Develop farmer advisories (Telugu WhatsApp/IVR/SMS) on breeding, nutrition, disease prevention, and heat stress management.
Harmonize national (National Livestock Mission, Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund) and state-level livestock programs for maximum field impact.
Feed insights from field operations into PMU dashboards; support M&E reviews on livestock productivity and farmer income.
Essential Capabilities
-  Deep knowledge of Andhra Pradesh’s livestock systems (including poultry), and veterinary infrastructure.
-  Familiarity with livestock census data, vaccination and AI service systems, and departmental MIS.
-  Strong understanding of breeding, feeding, disease management, and fodder cultivation practices.
-  Experience working with veterinary officers, extension workers, cooperatives, and farmer groups.
-  Ability to translate technical information into simple farmer-facing communication.
-  Telugu (essential for field work); English (for documentation).
 
Desired Capabilities
-  Exposure to digital livestock/advisory platforms and IoT monitoring tools.
-  Understanding of dairy and small ruminant value chains, poultry systems, and FPO strengthening.
-  Experience in multi-stakeholder projects involving agri-tech players, dairy cooperatives, and research institutions.
-  Data analytics competence for dashboard-based insights and reporting.
-  Familiarity with One Health approaches linking animal and public health.
 
Skills Required
Technical:
 Livestock breeding, AI and reproductive technologies, nutrition, disease prevention, fodder management.
Digital:
 Use of MIS, GIS, mobile data systems, and dashboards (Power BI/Tableau).
Project Management:
 Prioritize and coordinate across schemes; manage reporting and documentation.
Interpersonal:
 Facilitation and negotiation with diverse stakeholders; community engagement.
Analytical:
 Combine data and field insights for productivity and service delivery improvement.
Capacity Building:
 Train field staff on digital tools and evidence-based advisories.
Preferred Profile & Qualifications
-  Education: M.V.Sc. (Veterinary Sciences) / M.Sc. (Animal Husbandry, Genetics, Nutrition) / MBA (Agri-Business) / PGDRM (Livestock focus)
-  Experience: 6–10 years in animal husbandry, livestock development, veterinary services, or agribusinesses with focus on livestock sector.
-  Attributes: Systems thinker, tech-savvy, field-oriented, collaborative communicator.
