Denim wash technician

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Denim Wash Technician with 5–10 years of hands-on

expertise in denim garment washing, finishing, and laundry operations. The role involves

developing innovative wash recipes, ensuring consistency in production, managing sampling

processes, and maintaining quality standards to meet fashion trends and buyer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Wash Development & Sampling

 Develop, test, and finalize wash recipes for denim garments (stone wash, enzyme

wash, acid wash, bleach wash, vintage looks, laser effects, etc.).

 Work closely with the R&D and design teams to translate buyer’s wash requirements

into practical production processes.

 Prepare lab dips and pilot samples for buyer approval.

 Ensure wash reproducibility from sample to bulk production.

Production & Quality Control

 Monitor daily washing operations in the laundry unit.

 Ensure all recipes, chemicals, and washing parameters are followed as per buyer

requirements.

 Troubleshoot and resolve wash-related defects (shade variations, patchiness, streaks,

shrinkage issues, etc.).

 Maintain consistency in wash quality across bulk orders.

 Implement quality checkpoints at every stage of washing and finishing.

Technical Expertise

 Strong knowledge of denim fabrics, behavior during washing, and finishing

techniques.

 Proficient in handling washing machines, hydro extractors, dryers, ozone machines,

laser, and other finishing equipment.

 Ensure correct chemical handling and dosing for desired effects.

 Apply sustainable and eco-friendly washing practices (enzyme wash, ozone wash, e-

flow, water-saving techniques).

Compliance & Safety

 Adhere to all safety and compliance requirements in the laundry area.

 Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous chemicals as per safety norms.

 Support sustainability initiatives in washing (water usage, effluent treatment,

chemical safety).

Team Management & Coordination

 Guide and train junior wash technicians, operators, and helpers.

 Coordinate with production, merchandising, and quality teams to meet delivery

timelines.

 Maintain proper documentation of wash recipes, parameters, and approvals.

Key Skills & Competencies

 Strong expertise in denim wash techniques and finishing effects.

 In-depth knowledge of washing chemicals, auxiliaries, and enzymes.

 Ability to manage wash trials, approvals, and bulk production.

 Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in wash-related issues.

 Knowledge of sustainable washing practices and eco-friendly processes.

 Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.

 Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

Qualifications & Experience

 Diploma / Degree in Textile Technology / Garment Technology or relevant field.

 5–10 years of proven experience as a Denim Wash Technician in reputed garment

manufacturing/laundry units.

 Hands-on experience with both sample development and bulk production washes.

 Exposure to international buyer standards and requirements is preferred.
