• Senior Fashion Designer Requirement: Experience in menswear of minimum 3 years • create or visualise an idea and produce a design • keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours and shapes • plan and develop ranges, often based on a theme • connect. closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points • understand design from a technical perspective, such as producing patterns and technical specifications for designs • adapt existing designs for mass production • develop a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervise the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations • oversee production • negotiate with customers and suppliers • Overseeing the research and development of new styles for an organization • Managing the design process from conception through to final styling • Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and seek design inspiration • Communicating technical design information for customer samples • Working with team members to design clothes for upcoming seasons • Creating cost sheets and product lists Requirements and skills Mininum 3 year experience in menswear . • Proven work experience as a Fashion Designer or similar role • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator • Availability to travel for research and product development • Ability to do sketches by hand • Excellent design and conceptual skills • A bachelor’s degree in design or fine arts is preferred • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fashion Designer • Superior knowledge of fashion design principles • Excellent creativity with a good sense of fashion and style • In-depth knowledge of garment technology • Ability to create, cut and sew-up patterns • Proficiency in computer-aided fashion design applications and digital visualization tools • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Strong time-management skills • Excellent attention to detail Show more Show less
