Database Engineer

Key Skills Required:

· GCP (Cloud SQL / Big Query)

· Advanced SQL – views, stored procs, optimisation

· AppSheet / Apps Script based UI development

· API Integration experience

· ETL Tools

· Working knowledge on Power BI data modelling

Key Responsibilities

· Design database schema, define data types, establish relationships and indexing standards.

· Configure and maintain database systems within GCP (e.g. Cloud SQL / BigQuery)
Practical working knowledge of GCP.

· Develop front-end application interface for operational data input (Google AppSheet / Google Apps Script / lightweight web UI). Experience in building simple UI / operational data entry apps.

· Develop CSV upload modules to ingest transactional data into the database.

· Build SQL-based ETL logic, create views, stored procedures and query layers for reporting.

· Integrate external APIs for real-time or scheduled data ingestion.

· Ensure data accuracy, referential integrity, and maintain auditability of changes.

· Optimise SQL queries for performance and scalability.

· Provide ready-to-consume datasets for downstream BI tools (Power BI).

· Document data structures, source mappings, and transformations.

· Advanced SQL (joins, window functions, aggregations, dynamic queries, indexing)

· Strong understanding of ETL and data modelling fundamentals

Experience

Min 2 years of relevant experience in database engineering / cloud / data application development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering / computer science / information technology or equivalent professional capability.
