Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineer with 3-4 years of hands-on experience to design, build, maintain, and optimize reusable data pipelines and infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with data scientists, analysts, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data is available, accurate, and usable for analytics, reporting, machine learning, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL / ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses or data lakes.

Implement both batch and real-time / streaming data ingestion where required.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, product teams to understand data requirements; translate business needs into data architecture, schema designs, and data models.

Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy: perform data validation, cleansing, handling missing/erroneous data, and implement governance practices.

Optimize data storage, retrieval, and query performance; tune pipelines to reduce latency, cost, resource usage

Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes/data marts; handle schema design, partitioning, indexing.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data pipelines. Handle failures, logging, alerts, and ensure reliability & observability of data systems.

Automate repetitive data workflows; use orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, etc.) to schedule tasks, manage dependencies.

Document data pipelines, data flows, architecture diagrams, technical decisions to help maintain and scale.

Stay updated with emerging tools, best practices in data engineering, cloud services, big data tech. Propose and adopt improvements.
