Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance.
• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and business stakeholders to align governance strategies with business objectives.
• Define and maintain data lineage, reference data, and metadata management practices.
• Conduct data governance meetings and workshops to promote awareness and accountability across business units.
• Monitor enterprise-wide data management practices, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to governance frameworks.
• Support the implementation and configuration of data management and governance tools such as Alation or Collibra.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and governance policies.
• Assist in data quality monitoring and issue resolution, ensuring accuracy and consistency of critical datasets.
• Contribute to data visualization and reporting initiatives using tools like Tableau.
• Provide inputs for automation and scripting using Python or Shell where applicable.
  

Mandatory Skills

• Strong understanding of data management and data governance frameworks.
• Expertise in Data Catalog and Governance tools — Alation and/or Collibra.
• Experience in data lineage and reference data management.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and advanced SQL for data profiling and validation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
  

Good To Have

• Hands-on experience with tools like IGC, IA, Alation, Bigeye.
• Basic knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Certification in Data Governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is an advantage.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
