Role: Data Architect Power BI & Reporting Platform

Experience: 10 Year+

Location: Gurgaon / Noida/ Bangalore

Key Responsibilities

• Define, design, and own the end-to-end architecture for the reporting platform (Power BI + backend data infrastructure).
• Work with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document reporting & analytics requirements.
• Design data models (dimensional, relational, tabular) suitable for reporting, dashboards, and self-service BI.
• Oversee development of ETL/ELT pipelines: ingestion, transformation, data cleansing, aggregation, etc.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, lineage, and governance. Implement best practices for data quality and metadata management.
• Optimize performance of reporting solutions: dashboards, data refresh, query performance, etc.
• Design scalable, modular, maintainable solutions. Make technology / tool recommendations (e.g., data warehouses / data lakes, cloud services).
• Set standards, guidelines, documentation for data modeling, Power BI dashboard design (visualization best practices), naming conventions, folder / workspace structure etc.
• Oversee maintenance, versioning, deployment (CI/CD) of reports and dashboards.
• Ensure security, access control, compliance (e.g. data privacy, role-based access).
• Monitor usage, feedback, and have a continuous improvement mindset.
• Mentor / guide BI developers, report authors, and cross-functional teams in best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Significant experience (typically 8-12+ years) in data architecture, business intelligence, reporting platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with

  Microsoft Power BI

  (desktop, service, Power BI Premium / capacities) and with designing dashboards, reports, data models in Power BI.
• Deep experience with data modeling (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, tabular modeling).
• Strong ETL / ELT experience: designing, implementing pipelines; transforming, cleaning, aggregating data. Tools could be SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DBT etc.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP), data warehouses / lakes (e.g. Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift etc).
• Proficient in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning), maybe other languages (e.g. Python) for data engineering tasks is a plus.
• Skills in performance optimization: dashboard refresh, query performance, data volumes etc.
• Solid understanding of security / access control in BI environment (row-level security, workspace permissions).
• Experience with data governance, metadata management, data lineage.
• Strong communication, documentation skills; ability to translate business requirements to technical architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD / version control for reports and BI artifacts.
