Data Analyst Intern

Data Science, Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems,

or a related field. No direct work experience is required - bring your passion for data, your analytical mindset, and your eagerness to learn. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a key role in reviewing and cleansing account data in Salesforce, ensuring accurate name and address matching, associating accounts with D&B DUNS numbers, and helping maintain the integrity and quality of our CRM data. You’ll have the chance to develop your skills in data analysis, business process understanding, and reporting, while making a real impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities

Data Review & Cleansing

  • Review account data in Salesforce for correct name and address matching.
  • Match accounts to D&B DUNS numbers and verify against external databases for accuracy.
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies in account data related to names, addresses, hierarchy assignments, customer segments, and HQ countries.
  • Maintain and update records to ensure data integrity and compliance with business standards.

Business Process Understanding

  • Gain exposure to business processes in sales, marketing, and customer management.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data supports business needs and objectives.
  • Learn to apply best practices in data maintenance.

Data Transformation & Reporting

  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and organization in Excel (e.g., removing duplicates, standardizing formats, creating pivot tables, using lookup functions).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Excel reports and dashboards for business analysis.
  • Support the creation of visual reports using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

Detail-Oriented Analysis

  • Ensure a high level of attention to detail to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze trends and discrepancies in data, providing insights and recommendations.

Communication & Documentation

  • Document data processes, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Present insights and results to team members and stakeholders in a professional manner.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with CRM software (especially Salesforce).
  • Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Understanding of data comparison and validation techniques.
  • Awareness of external databases like Dun & Bradstreet or other public datasets.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or pending) in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like pivot tables, lookups, and basic data cleaning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn about business processes, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and external databases (e.g., D&B).
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
