🚀 Data Analyst Intern (GCP Project Focus)

Program Overview: This is a rigorous 6-month internship program designed to immerse the successful candidate in a real-world, end-to-end data analytics and machine learning pipeline using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The first 3 months are unpaid, serving as an intensive training and project familiarization period. The subsequent 3 months are paid, based on successful performance and demonstrated competency. High-performing interns will be considered for a full-time Data Analyst position upon successful completion of the internship

Project Scope: Raw Data to Prediction on GCP. The intern will work directly on a core project that involves the entire data lifecycle on GCP, specifically: Raw Data $\rightarrow$ Google Cloud Storage (GCS) $\rightarrow$ BigQuery $\rightarrow$ Vertex AI Model $\rightarrow$ Prediction

Responsibilitie

• Data Ingestion & Transformation

  : Assist in setting up and monitoring data flow from raw data sources into Google Cloud Storage (GCS) for secure and scalable storage. Execute data loading and transformation tasks using SQL within BigQuery, including cleaning, structuring, and optimizing data tables for analysis and machine learning model training

• Data Analysis & Visualization

  : Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Python to identify trends, anomalies, and insights relevant to the business objective. Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel to communicate key metrics and findings to stakeholders

• Machine Learning Support

  : Prepare feature sets in BigQuery specifically for training models on Vertex AI. Assist the MLOps team in model deployment and monitoring the prediction output quality

• Manual & Operational Tasks

  : Perform data validation and quality checks, including some necessary manual inspection and correction of raw datasets. Document data flows, analytical methods, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data maintenance

• Collaboration & Development

  : Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to optimize data pipelines and analytical processes. Write and maintain small utility scripts using Python or JavaScript to automate routine data tasks

Qualification

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Strong foundational knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools; Power BI is required, and Excel proficiency is essential
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, with a preference for familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., GCS, BigQuery)
• High attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range and compensation packag

Upon successful and high-performance completion of the 6-month program, the intern will be eligible for consideration for a full-time Data Analyst role, pending company needs and performance review
