You will be integrated in the multidisciplinary engineering team located in Bangalore & Hyderabad, working exclusively for Thermodyn business. Thermodyn is a French subsidiary of the worldwide company Baker Hughes, designing, producing, testing and installing centrifugal compressors and medium power steam turbines for the industrial and energy sector customers.Innovation is part of our DNA. We provide steam turbines for propulsion of nuclear submarines of the French NAVY. We are worldwide leader of integrated compression with zero-emission, using state of the art technologies like high-speed induction motors and magnetic bearings.The company exists since more than 100 years. Role Summary:
Baker Hughes has a new opportunity for Lead Auxiliary Mechanical Piping Engineer to join the team in Bengaluru, India.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Going through customer specifications in detail, understanding critical project requirements, and deriving all requirements for the design of various Mechanical Auxiliaries according to BH best practices
- Being responsible for the skid package design of Compressor & Steam turbine packages, including package piping & support design, locking assembly, et,c with due consideration to ergonomics, accessibility, and maintenance.
- Reviewing engineering drawings & 3D models. Also, Performing Structural analysis of baseplates using FEA tools [BDOT - BH Tool].
- Assigning & reviewing static and dynamic analysis when the same is performed with Ansys software by external suppliers, and creating drawings for the baseplate.
- Being responsible for the design of various external BOP skids that include Rundown oil tanks, and Seal gas treatment skids in collaboration with external OEM vendors
- Creating Piping line specifications using PUMA (BH Tool).
- Lead multiple complex projects and present to leadership on project status, risks and mitigations.
- Collaborating with external engineering suppliers in the creation of basic engineering drawings of various Mechanical Auxiliaries items, foundation drawings, and managing 3D models.
- Extending support to the Manufacturing Cell during machine assembly on the Shop floor and providing quick resolution to Non-conformity if generated.
- Extending support to FSE/ FPE during the installation & commissioning of the machine at the site
- Delivers products as part of a team. Works with cross functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Have a BE/BTech in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
- Have 6+ years of experience in the Packaging of rotating equipment, auxiliary equipment design, piping & support design/ analysis, and structural analysis.
- Have knowledge of piping design for ASME B31.1 & 31.3, Lube oil System sizing to API 614 code requirement.
- Be Proficient in NX modules; modelling, drafting, routing & assembly.
- Have hands-on 3D modelling/detailing tools like UG NX, Autocad, and Analysis software like Ansys, Caesar, etc
- Be able to read & understand engineering documents (like Piping & Instrument diagram P & ID, technical data sheets, and O&M manuals) and site service requests.
- Knowledge in Materials Engineering and Turbomachinery.
