Role Overview

Credit Risk

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development:

  Design, develop, and optimize credit scoring models using wallet, PSP, and merchant transaction data.

• Risk Segmentation:

  Build risk segmentation frameworks, define lending thresholds, and set decision rules.

• Deployment & Integration:

  Deploy scoring models into our lending platform and ensure seamless integration with MNOs and PSPs.

• Real-Time Decisioning:

  Implement API-based real-time scoring capabilities for instant loan approvals.

• Performance Monitoring:

  Continuously track portfolio performance and refine scoring strategies based on data-driven insights.

Required Experience (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of experience in

  credit scoring, risk modeling, or credit analytics

  .
• Proven track record in building

  credit scoring models for digital lending products

  .
• Strong expertise in leveraging

  mobile money data, PSP transaction data, or alternative data sources

  .
• Experience working with

  African fintech markets

  or other

  emerging markets

  (highly preferred).

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in

  Python, R, or similar tools

  for data modeling and analytics.
• Strong understanding of

  credit risk metrics

  : PD, LGD, EAD, NPL ratios, etc.
• Experience deploying scoring models via

  APIs

  for real-time decision engines.
• Familiarity with

  digital lending platforms

  and MNO/PSP integrations.
• Bonus: Knowledge of tools like

  Lendsqr, Kuunda, Jumo, Tala

  , or similar systems.
