Role Overview: As a Counsel III at our organization, you will play an intermediate-level role by providing legal guidance and thought leadership to the Business. Your primary responsibility will be to offer legal support, advice, and guidance to the Business. We are seeking a pragmatic and proactive attorney with a solid understanding of the Business and a strong grasp of the laws and regulations relevant to our operating geographies. Your role will involve contributing to strategic decisions and developing proactive, risk-appropriate, and commercially practical business-oriented solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel to the Business - Participate in strategic initiatives - Offer subject matter expertise - Interpret relevant laws, rules, regulations, and industry practices - Advise business management on legal matters affecting the business - Support legal peers in evaluating business proposals and analyzing documentation - Apply institutional knowledge and risk appetite against industry standards, business practices, laws, rules, and regulatory guidelines - Collaborate across internal lines of business, control/support functions, and external counsel - Coordinate with the Legal team on regional and global levels - Identify, evaluate, and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks - Stay updated on legal developments, participate in internal projects, and escalate issues as necessary - Manage day-to-day legal activities in your area of responsibility - Provide advisory services to business partners as needed - Assess risk when making business decisions to safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets - Uphold compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations - Adhere to Policy and apply sound ethical judgment Qualifications Required: - 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services - Experience in banking or financial industry, including knowledge of banking regulations - Good understanding of international laws, regulations, and practices - Stay informed about regulatory and legal environments, internal policies, and industry trends - Effective communication and negotiation skills - Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships - Interpersonal, organizational, and relationship management skills - Proven ability to apply sound judgment in a fast-paced environment - Bar license in good standing to practice law - Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree (Note: The JD did not contain any additional details about the company.),
