Maldives – Resort Construction Project

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of a luxury resort development project in the Maldives. The role requires strong expertise in contract administration, negotiation, risk management, and compliance, ensuring that all agreements align with project objectives and legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration

Review and interpret contract terms with the client, consultants, and subcontractors.

Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and company policies.

  • Commercial & Risk Management

Identify potential risks in contracts and propose mitigation strategies.

Manage variations, claims, and change orders to protect contractor interests.

  • Subcontractor & Supplier Management

Draft, negotiate, and administer subcontracts and supplier agreements.

Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with contractual terms.

  • Project Support

Work closely with project managers, site teams, and finance to align contractual obligations with construction progress.

Provide contractual advice to project teams during execution.

  • Claims & Dispute Resolution

Prepare, evaluate, and defend claims against the client or subcontractors.

Support arbitration, mediation, or litigation processes when required.

  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on contractual and commercial matters.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in contract management, preferably in hospitality, construction, or resort development.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and international contracting standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and adapt to remote island project settings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract management software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • minimum: 10 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Preferred)
