Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Contracts Manager – Civil to oversee and manage contract development, negotiation, execution, and compliance for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will ensure all contractual obligations are met and that projects are delivered within legal and commercial frameworks while minimizing risk and protecting company interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contract agreements with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, in line with civil construction project requirements.
  • Interpret contractual terms and conditions and ensure compliance with legal, technical, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle including contract formation, execution, performance monitoring, amendments, claims, and close-out.
  • Handle contractual correspondence and communications between internal teams, clients, and third parties.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Administer claims management including Extension of Time (EOT), variations, and cost claims; coordinate with quantity surveyors and legal teams.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain updated records of all project contracts and associated documentation in compliance with company policy.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and timely project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, procurement, engineering, and project control teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in contracts management within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Solid knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, or local government contract forms.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with an ability to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Familiarity with tendering procedures, cost control, and claims handling.
  • Proficient in contract management systems, MS Office Suite, and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Construction Law, Contract Management, or related discipline.
  • Certifications such as MRICS, PMP, or WorldCC/IACCM.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or public-sector civil projects.
  • Working knowledge of local construction laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
