JD: Commvault Backup & Pure Storage Specialist We are looking for an experienced Commvault Backup & Pure Storage Specialist (L4) to join our infrastructure team. This is a customer-facing role that demands strong interpersonal communication, advanced technical expertise, and solid problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-grade backup and storage solutions, ensuring data availability, protection, and optimal storage performance. Key Responsibilities: Administer and support Commvault backup infrastructure, including configuration, scheduling, troubleshooting, and recovery operations. Manage and optimize Pure Storage environments (FlashArray and/or FlashBlade), ensuring performance, availability, and efficient capacity usage. Work directly with customers and internal teams to understand backup/storage requirements and implement reliable, scalable solutions. Perform root cause analysis for backup failures and storage performance issues; implement long-term fixes. Ensure data protection and disaster recovery compliance, working closely with InfoSec and operations teams. Create and maintain detailed documentation including architecture, procedures, recovery plans, and operational guides. Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes aligned with ITIL standards. Monitor, report, and tune performance of both backup and storage systems using native and third-party tools. Required Skills & Qualifications: 12+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience, with 6-8 years focused on Commvault and Pure Storage administration. In-depth knowledge of: Commvault CommServe, MediaAgents, and backup policies. Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade, snapshots, replication, and storage provisioning. Experience with VM backups, application-aware backups (e.g., SQL, Oracle,), and cloud integration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven customer-facing experience. Familiarity with PowerShell, REST APIs, or other automation methods for storage and backup. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) or Pure Storage Certified Architect (PSCA). Knowledge of SAN/NAS architectures, Fibre Channel, and storage networking. Experience with cloud-connected backups (Azure, AWS) and storage tiering. Familiarity with other backup and storage platforms (e.g., NetBackup, Cohesity, Dell EMC) is a plus. Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) as they relate to data retention and backup. Show more Show less
