Job Description

Key Responsibilities:Clinical Expertise:

  • Conduct advanced biomechanical assessments including gait analysis, postural evaluation, and movement screening for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
  • Utilize motion analysis tools, force platforms, pressure mapping systems, and video analysis for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized correction programs targeting biomechanical inefficiencies, abnormal gait patterns, and faulty postures.
  • Collaborate closely with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists to formulate multidisciplinary treatment protocols.

Therapeutic Interventions:

  • Prescribe and monitor corrective exercise regimens, orthotic interventions, and postural retraining strategies.
  • Educate patients on ergonomics, joint protection, and preventive biomechanics to reduce the risk of injury and recurrence.
  • Support pre-surgical and post-surgical rehabilitation through biomechanical insight and progression monitoring.

Departmental Contribution:

  • Play a key role in establishing and managing the Clinical Biomechanics Unit within the hospital.
  • Standardize protocols for assessments, documentation, and reporting using validated outcome measures.
  • Maintain and calibrate biomechanical equipment, ensuring all tools and systems are functional and up-to-date.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Analyze, document, and present findings from gait and posture assessments in a clear and structured format to both clinical teams and patients.
  • Track outcome metrics and contribute to the quality improvement initiatives of the rehabilitation department.

Patient-Centered Communication:

  • Communicate assessment findings and intervention goals to patients in a simple, understandable manner.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers regarding lifestyle changes, workplace ergonomics, and daily movement optimization.

Research & Innovation:

  • Stay updated with the latest research and technological advances in clinical biomechanics and human movement science.
  • Lead or participate in clinical research, case studies, and pilot projects related to gait rehabilitation, posture correction, or assistive technologies.

Business Enhancement:

  • Contribute to the design and promotion of specialized services like gait clinics, posture correction packages, sports biomechanics programs, and corporate ergonomics packages.
  • Support the hospital’s marketing and outreach efforts by conducting awareness programs, health camps, and community workshops.
  • Assist management in identifying new revenue opportunities through innovation in assessment tools, therapy services, and wellness products.
