Chef

A Commis I is a skilled junior cook responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in accordance with established quality standards. The role involves supporting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and carry out food preparation tasks as assigned by the Chef de Partie.
• Cook and present dishes according to standardized recipes and quality expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned kitchen sections.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
• Assist in inventory management and report shortages or needs.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations.
• Support training and guidance for Commis II and III.
• Ensure timely preparation during peak service hours.
• Participate in menu development and suggest improvements when required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen (hotel or restaurant).
• Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency.
• Culinary diploma or relevant certification is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
