Category Manager

As a proactive and strategic Category Manager at Dropdash, you will be responsible for owning and growing a product category. Your role will involve selecting the right assortment, negotiating with suppliers, defining pricing, and driving profitability. If you have prior experience with leading fashion/e-commerce companies like Myntra, Ajio, or Nykaa Fashion, and possess the knowledge to scale categories in the Indian market, then this role is a perfect fit for you. **Key Responsibilities:** - Plan and execute growth strategies for the assigned category. - Conduct research on market trends, customer behavior, and competitors to stay ahead. - Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best terms and cultivate strong relationships. - Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to launch new campaigns and promotions. - Manage pricing, promotions, inventory, and demand forecasting to maximize profitability. - Track KPIs and category performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary. - Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning offerings with market demand. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 5 years of experience in category management. - Previous work experience in fashion/e-commerce companies such as Myntra, Ajio, Nykaa Fashion, etc. - Strong understanding of the Indian retail and e-commerce market. - Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. - Proficiency in Excel, reporting, and category management tools. - Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. **Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have):** - Familiarity with retail merchandising systems/software. - Knowledge of pricing strategies, margin analysis, and inventory management. - Hands-on experience with demand forecasting and data analytics tools. - Passion for e-commerce and customer-first thinking. - Multilingual skills to cater to diverse Indian markets. **About Dropdash:** Dropdash offers you the opportunity to own and scale a key category in a growing startup.
