About The Opportunity

A leading provider in the tertiary cardiac care and cardiothoracic surgical services sector, delivering high-volume, complex cardiac procedures across adult and pediatric populations. We are recruiting an experienced perioperative specialist to join an on-site multidisciplinary cardiac team and help raise standards of anaesthetic care, safety and outcomes.Primary title (standardized): Cardiac Anesthesiologist

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based anaesthesia for cardiac surgeries (CABG, valve repair/replacement, congenital procedures, transplant) including induction, maintenance and emergence.
  • Perform perioperative assessments and optimise high-risk cardiac patients—pre-operative evaluation, risk stratification and tailored anaesthetic plans.
  • Manage invasive haemodynamic monitoring and guide inotropic/vasoactive therapy; interpret arterial, central and pulmonary artery catheter data to direct intra-op management.
  • Use and interpret transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to guide surgical and anaesthetic decisions during procedures.
  • Oversee cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) transitions, coordinate with perfusionists and surgical teams; respond to intraoperative emergencies and haemodynamic crises.
  • Handover and provide ongoing postoperative care in the cardiac ICU, participate in rounds, protocols for analgesia, ventilation and fast-track extubation pathways.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology (or equivalent) plus 2–5 years demonstrable experience in cardiac anaesthesia or completed Fellowship in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
  • Hands-on competency in TEE (basic mandatory; advanced preferred) and managing CPB-related perioperative care.
  • Proven ability with invasive haemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive/inotropic drug titration and management of complex cardiac cases in high-volume centres.
  • Current ACLS certification, excellent airway management skills and familiarity with ultrasound-guided regional/vascular access techniques.

Preferred

  • Experience with pediatric cardiac anaesthesia, ECMO support or heart transplant programs.
  • Prior exposure to quality improvement, protocol development, teaching responsibilities and multidisciplinary heart-team workflows.
