Job Title: Captain – Food & Beverage Service

Department: Operations / Service
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

The Captain is responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring excellent guest experience, maintaining service standards, and coordinating between guests, kitchen, and service staff for smooth restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide stewards/floor staff during service
• Ensure high standards of food & beverage service and guest satisfaction
• Take orders, suggest menu items, and handle guest queries professionally
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate service
• Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and service SOPs on the floor
• Manage table allocation, reservations, and service flow
• Assist in billing, cash handling (if required), and closing procedures
• Train new joiners and motivate the service team
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and company policies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience as Captain or Senior Steward
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Good knowledge of food & beverage service standards
• Guest-focused attitude with problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle pressure during peak hours
• Basic billing/POS knowledge preferred

Education:

• Hotel Management / Hospitality background preferred
