Job Description: NPD Buyer / Buyer Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced NPD Buyer / Buyer Manager to lead procurement activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects. The role involves supplier development, cost optimization, and ensuring timely sourcing of components with a strong focus on stainless steel and machining components. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in automotive sourcing and cross-functional collaboration to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: BE in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering
• Experience: 5–10 years in automotive sourcing and New Product Development, with emphasis on stainless steel and machining components

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand NPD requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for new components and technologies
• Manage RFQs, cost negotiations, and supplier selection for NPD parts
• Ensure timely procurement of prototypes, samples, and initial production batches
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and commercial issues
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports for NPD projects
• Support localization and cost-reduction initiatives during early design stages
• Ensure alignment with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 standards

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of automotive components, supplier base, and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and quality systems
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with Tier-1 or OEM automotive suppliers
• Exposure to global sourcing and cost benchmarking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹1,300,000.00 per year
